Finished part 1 of the project!

Well, I've never done a quilt top before.  But I fell in love with this quilt over at Sew Dang Cute and when I found out I was having a boy, I had to go for it.  With a month to go (tomorrow! Yay!) and finding out that I'm already dilated (which I've never been this early with any of the other three!) it scared me into action. So I started applique-ing like mad yesterday, and got the quilt top finished today.  I'm so excited about it!  It's not perfect by any means, but it could have gone much worse for sure.

*Sorry for the bad angle!*
I'm looking at places right now where I can take it to get it professionally quilted.  I'll be using the Warm & White cotton batting, which is also a first for me. I normally use the polyester stuff, but I wanted this to not be quite so fluffy, but still warm.  Hopefully the quilting will be done in the next week or so, so that I can sort of relax about it before he shows up.

Tomorrow I'll be working on a rag quilt for him too, which is also a first, so hopefully that will go well.  I got it all cut out tonight and decided how I want it to look.  Since he'll (hopefully!) be a March baby, I didn't want it to be overly warm, so I'm not using batting at all in this one.  I'm excited about all of these projects and actually being able (and remembering) to post them. So thanks for checking it out!

Toni's giving away Chocolate!

So, Toni over at Bowl Full of Lemons is teaming up with Beth to give away a basket of stuff from Dove Chocolate Discoveries!  Go check it out over there to see what is in it.  It looks so yummy (especially since I'm in the final 4 week countdown to the end of the gestational diabetes!).  Go leave a comment and enter!
